Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support nursing staff and deliver patient-centered care. The role involves measuring and documenting vital signs, assisting with personal care, and ensuring comfortable patient positioning and safety.

A BLS certification is required at hire and must be maintained. Under RN supervision, you will monitor patients, assist with basic treatments, and help maintain supplies and a clean environment.

Competenze

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of patient care work experience in a health care facility or CNA preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required upon hire and maintained.

Mansioni

• Keep patient rooms tidy and sanitized.
• Assist patient with everyday needs (personal hygiene, using the restroom, grooming, etc.).
• Monitor vital signs (temperature, pulse, etc.) or EKG signals and patient condition.
• Assist nursing staff in administering basic treatments.
• Ensure rooms have adequate patient care supplies, linen is clean.
• Provide appropriate emotional support to patients.
• Place patient on cardiac monitor.
• Empty drains, ostomies, Foley bags.
• Perform blood sugar checks.
