Job summary

The Medical University of South Carolina seeks a Patient Care Technician to provide individualized nursing care to patients using the nursing process and to lead other team members as part of a multidisciplinary team. This role emphasizes patient-centered care, safety, privacy, and professional accountability.

Under supervision, you will engage in health teaching, coordinate care with other clinicians, and support delivery of high-quality care during night shifts within a complex hospital

Qualifications

• Education: A high school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
• Credentials: Basic Life Support required within 2 weeks of hire.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care to patients using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation).
• Directs and leads other assigned team members and collaborates with multidisciplinary team members to provide age/developmentally appropriate care.
• Maintains patient privacy and a safe, therapeutic environment.
• Promotes leadership, professional development, and accountability within a professional practice model.
