Job summary

UTMB Health in Texas is seeking part-time night Nurse Assistant/Medical Assistant support to provide basic technical assistance and patient care across assigned areas.

The role emphasizes privacy, infection control, vital signs, specimen collection, and collaboration with nursing staff to support patient needs in a busy hospital setting. Candidates may have completed relevant programs or have two years of direct patient care experience and must hold BLS.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of Nurse Assistant, Medical Assistant, EMT, or related program.
• Two years direct patient care experience.
• Certified MA, PCT, or CNA at time of hire.
• Enrollment in nursing school with first semester clinical concepts completed.

Responsibilities

• Collect vital signs, height/weight, intake/output, and documents data.
• Obtain blood samples by venipuncture and perform POCT as assigned.
• Acquire 12 lead EKG and assist with patient activities per plan of care.
• Provide personal hygiene, feeding assistance, and mobility support.
• Assist with safety, isolation, infection control, and confidentiality.
• Maintain clean, safe patient care areas and assist with hospital services requests.
