Job summary

University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Health in Bel Air, MD is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Central Pool, PRN, nights 7pm–7:30am. You will provide direct patient care under supervision, take vitals, assist with ADLs, and perform blood draws and specimen collection.

Join a collaborative nursing team, ensure patient safety, document care, and support with admissions, discharges, and daily rounds.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Maryland CNA or GNA certification required.
• No prior experience required; prior patient care experience preferred.
• Current BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Performs testing and manages patient care based on results and clinical findings.
• Records patient care activities including ADLs: feeding, bathing, dressing, toileting and transferring.
• Documents vital signs and reported pain levels.
• Assists in admission, transfer and discharge of patients.
• Collaborates with health care team to carry out the plan of care.
• Responds to patient alarms and supports patient safety.
• Maintains patient rooms, supplies, and linen.
• Provides wound care and glucose monitoring.
• Supports hourly patient rounding with the care team.
