Job summary

Wood County Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Technician for Acute Care on nights. The role provides direct patient care, monitors vital signs, and supports daily operations under licensed staff supervision.

You will document observations in the clinical system, assist with testing, and help maintain a safe, clean care environment. No prior experience required, BLS within 90 days, High School diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and assist with activities of daily living.
• Monitor vital signs and assist with point-of-care testing and cardiac monitoring under supervision.
• Document and communicate observations in the clinical system; relay information promptly.
• Perform clerical tasks: answering phones, transport coordination, records, scheduling, and billing support.
• Train and support new staff; uphold safety culture.
• Support unit operations and adapt to changing needs; may require longer hours.
