Job summary

Baptist Health - Central Alabama is seeking a Patient Care Technician 1S for the GU Med/Surg unit on a full-time night shift. You will assist RNs, LPNs, and physicians in routine patient care and support the patient care team in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Minimum high school diploma required; CNA/HOSA preferred and BLS certification required. The role emphasizes safety, patient comfort, and effective communication with patients and staff.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent is required.
• Graduate from a certified Nursing Assistant Program or a Health Occupations Program (HOSA) preferred.
• Completion of first clinical rotation as a Nurse Student or 1 year of patient care experience in acute care, nursing home or home care setting preferred.
• BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist RNs, LPNs, and Physicians in the patient care process.
• Support routine and non-complex patient care tasks as part of the patient care team.
• Duties may include additional tasks within scope of role as assigned.
