Job summary

Community Health Systems is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) in Longview, TX. The role supports patient care under direct supervision of an RN or LPN, assisting with activities of daily living and maintaining a safe care environment.

The candidate will collect vital signs, assist with feeding and hygiene, and help with mobility and positioning, ensuring clear communication with the care team. BCLS within 90 days and CNA/CPCT preferred.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience in an acute care setting or nursing program enrollment preferred.
• BCLS (Basic Life Support) within 90 days of hire required.
• CNA or CPCT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff in delivering care and maintaining a safe, organized environment.
• Collect and record vitals, intake/output, and glucose monitoring results; report findings to RN/LPN/LVN.
• Assist with meals, bathing, grooming, linens, and mobility support.
• Positioning, ambulation, and use of mobility aids (walkers, crutches, canes, wheelchairs).
• Maintain infection control and safety protocols, including PPE usage.
• Communicate patient information to the care team and participate in performance improvement.
