Job summary

BJC HealthCare is seeking a Certified Nurse Assistant to provide direct patient care under nurse supervision. The role supports licensed nurses with a team of patients, collects vital information, and contributes to patient safety and comfort.

Shifts are nights from 7pm to 7:30am, with a 36-hour work week and holiday/weekend rotation. Requires a High School diploma or GED and CNA certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Preferred CNA, nurse assistant, EMT or surgical technician experience.
• No prior experience required for entry-level applicants.

Responsibilities

• Implements direct patient care under supervision of the nurse and assists with ADLs, vital signs, intake/output, catheter care, phlebotomy or point-of-care testing as requested.
• Collects clinical data and reports changes in patient status to the nurse.
• Assists with patient and family education; documents care activities using medical terminology.
• Acts as 1:1 patient safety sitter as necessary and ensures supplies/equipment are available.
• Participates in patient safety, quality and regulatory activities and in professional development.
