Jefferson Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Elkins Park (Albert Einstein Medical Center) Stroke Unit. You will support direct and indirect patient care under supervision, coordinate with the care team, and help ensure a safe, efficient unit.

The role involves potential telehealth activities, patient rounds, and use of devices like Epic and Vidyo to enable virtual encounters with providers. A strong focus on teamwork and patient-centered care is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and patient care needs.
• Ability to complete delegated tasks within scope of role.
• Knowledge of personal care/hygiene for quality of life.
• Awareness of risks in healthcare and steps to reduce them.
• Ability to communicate respectfully with patients and families.
• Familiarity with diverse populations and effective collaboration.
• Understanding of effective communication concepts and practices.
• Use of partnership language with patients and families.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with the interprofessional team, patient, family and care partners.
• Performs direct and indirect patient care activities under licensed supervision.
• Promotes and maintains a safe patient care environment.
• Assists in maintaining supplies and equipment.
• Conducts patient rounds and responds to call lights promptly.
• May serve as virtual safety associate as needed.
• May assist with clinical exams using peripheral devices and telehealth tools.
