Job summary

LCMC Health in New Orleans seeks a patient care assistant to support nurses with data collection, hygiene, and daily tasks, ensuring patient safety and comfort. You will communicate with patients and families, maintain a clean environment, and participate in rounds to enhance satisfaction.

Previous CNA or patient care tech experience is valued; a high school diploma or CNA program completion is required, with BLS certification expected within six months if in ER or behavioral health settings.

Responsibilities

• Assists the nurse in data collection for patient assessment (vital signs, etc.).
• Assists with hygiene, nutrition, and personal care tasks; documents tasks.
• Maintains patient safety and a clean environment under supervision.
• Participates in patient rounding to drive satisfaction and safety.
• Supports unit growth and participates in community events as directed.
