Job summary

SSM Health DePaul Hospital - St. Louis is seeking a Regular Worker to support nursing staff in a fast‑paced care setting. You will assist with patient care, documentation, and coordination under RN supervision.

The role includes night shifts, with weekend involvement, and a focus on safe, attentive patient interactions. The position emphasizes teamwork with clinical staff, adherence to protocols, and efficient handling of patient care tasks, including potential bedside assistance and discharge

Qualifications

• Completion of a state approved UAP program or equivalent.
• BLS HCP certification required.
• Orientation checklist completion during 90 day orientation period.

Responsibilities

• Receives patient care assignment from the RN and performs delegated tasks based on competence.
• Collects and documents admission assessments and scheduling data for patients.
• Notifies licensed nurse of changes in patient condition or needs.
• Stocks and maintains supplies; uses time and materials efficiently.
• Assists with clerical duties such as phones, messages, and chart prep.
• Inpatient duties include vital signs, baths, ambulation, feeding, and discharge prep.
• Outpatient duties include managing referrals for specialists for patients aged three and older.
• Maintains safety, performs point-of-care testing as required.
