Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Akron General is seeking a Patient Care Nursing Assistant to support the 4100 Acute Cardiac Telemetry/Renal Unit. You will perform patient care tasks, document care in the EMR, and assist with admissions, transfers, discharges, and post-operative care.

The role involves night shifts from 7:00 PM–7:30 AM or 11:00 PM–7:30 AM, with every other weekend and three holidays per year. Minimum qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED and BLS certification; preferred experience

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification required upon hire or within new-hire period.
• Basic computer knowledge to document care in the EMR.

Responsibilities

• Prepare units and patient rooms for admissions, transfers or emergencies.
• Provide and document care such as bathing, linens, dressing, and feeding.
• Take and document vital signs and patient measurements.
• Assist with pre- and post-operative care and ambulation as directed.
• Assist with admission, transfer and discharge processes.
• Perform hourly safety rounds and respond to call lights promptly.
• Collect, label and transport specimens; maintain room and equipment.
