Job summary

Memorial Healthcare System in Hollywood, FL seeks a patient care assistant working nights under the supervision of an RN. You will perform basic patient care, assist with daily living activities, transport patients, and support the clinical team.

Responsibilities include monitoring vital signs, EKG testing, phlebotomy, glucose measurements, and recording outputs. Must have or obtain BLS, and complete required competencies within six months.

Qualifications

• No degree required; entry to patient care support.
• BLS American Heart Association Basic Life Support certifications required or to be obtained.
• EKG and phlebotomy competencies required within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patient status and report abnormal findings to nursing staff.
• Assist with transporting patients and with activities of daily living.
• Tend to personal care: bathing, grooming, eating; keep rooms stocked and clean.
• Perform basic patient care tasks under RN supervision: monitor vital signs, EKG, phlebotomy, blood glucose, intake/output.
