Job summary

Mercy is hiring a Part Time Night Patient Care Associate (PCA) to work in the Med/Tele Unit. Under RN/LPN supervision, you will assist with individualized patient care and complete designated clinical and non-clinical tasks.

Progression is possible through the career ladder to Patient Care Technician (PCT) and beyond, with training and certification opportunities included in the program.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma, GED, CNA/CPTC, or enrolled in a healthcare career program.
• Experience: None required
• Minimum physical requirements: able to push, pull, and lift 50 pounds; stand and walk most shifts.

Responsibilities

• Obtain vital signs and document into the EMR system
• Assist with patient care needs including meals, bathing, toileting, ambulation, mobility, and transport
• Provide clerical support as needed
• PCA duties: patient care assistance; PCT tasks include phlebotomy, enteral feeding, wound care, IV/Foley removal, trach care/suctioning
