Job summary

The Patient Care Assistant helps with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care under the RN, and supports a safe environment on the unit. The role requires CNA certification (preferred), BLS within 30 days, and experience in acute care; phlebotomy and EKG certifications are also preferred.

Qualifications

• CNA certification is required by state.
• BLS (AHA) certification within 30 days of hire.
• Phlebotomy and EKG certifications preferred.
• Knowledge of Medical Terminology recommended.
• Minimum six months acute care hospital or physician's office experience preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Assists patients with activities of daily living.
• Provides basic nursing care under supervision.
• Maintains a safe environment under the RN in charge of the team/unit.
