Job summary

Prime Healthcare Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, IL is seeking a Patient Care Assistant for the Medical Specialty Unit. This full-time night shift (7pm–7am) includes weekend and holiday rotations, with supervision from the RN in charge.

You will assist patients with activities of daily living and provide basic nursing care in a safe environment. CNA certification, BLS, phlebotomy and EKG credentials, and prior acute-care experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Current Phlebotomy certification upon hire, preferred.
• Current EKG certification upon hire, preferred.
• Current BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living.
• Provide basic nursing care under the supervision of the RN in charge of the team and/or unit.
