Job summary

SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital - Madison in Wisconsin is seeking a Regular night shift Patient Access/Registration Clerk. You will greet patients, collect demographics and insurance information, and schedule prescribed procedures with accuracy and efficiency.

Ideal candidates have 1+ year in patient registration, experience with EHR, and strong customer service skills. The role features on-site work, weekend and holiday rotation, and opportunities for growth within a large health system.

Qualifications

• Experience with EHR and patient registration required.
• Proficient computer skills and excellent customer service.
• 1+ year in patient registration is required.

Responsibilities

• Gathers information from patient and enters into appropriate database.
• Schedules patient procedures in a manner that uses time and resources efficiently.
• Assists with coordination of insurance pre-certification/authorization.
• Provides counseling to patient regarding pre-service requirements and instructions.
• Performs clerical and reception duties associated with patient registration.
• Identifies process improvement opportunities and participates in improvement plans.
• Works on special projects as needed.
• May review the work of others.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
