Job summary

MercyOne Waterloo is seeking a Paramedic for full-time, night shift, 80 hours biweekly. The role focuses on providing outcome-based nursing support under supervision, with a strong emphasis on monitoring and reporting patient responses to interventions.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1-year ambulance or emergency room experience preferred.
• Current Iowa EMT-PM or CCP certification.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications; PHTLS highly recommended.
• Mandatory Reporter.
• Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training (NVCI) within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Conducts initial and ongoing observations to gather data.
• Assists in development of the outcome/goal-based plan of care.
• Assists with the implementation of an outcome/goal-based plan of care.
• Assists in monitoring patient progress toward individual identified patient outcomes/goals.
• Communicates relevant clinical information to the team to optimize patient outcomes/goals.
