Mars, Incorporated in Topeka, KS seeks a Machine Operator for the night shift to safely run food-safe machinery and production lines. You will support daily targets, perform routine maintenance, and uphold high quality and safety standards within a state-of-the-art facility.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma, GED, or equivalent civilian/military education.
• Physical Capability: Ability to stand for extended periods, bend, stoop, twist, reach, climb stairs, and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Safety Mindset: Willingness to wear PPE (hair net, bump cap, ear plugs, safety shoes, uniform).
• Certifications: Ability to obtain and maintain OSHA forklift certification (Mars on-site training and licensing).

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently operate food-safe machinery and production lines to meet daily targets.
• Assess equipment reliability and perform routine repairs, adjustments, and root-cause troubleshooting.
• Perform routine maintenance and work with Maintenance team on complex upkeep.
• Execute food safety and quality checks (metal detection, date codes, dump logs) and maintain product ownership.
• Keep accurate logs and shift documentation using basic production systems.
• Safely operate a forklift to manage material flow and inventory in production area.
