Job summary

Naples Comprehensive Health (NCH) seeks a Clinical Technician to provide direct patient care under a nurse’s supervision in the Orthopedics unit during a 12 Hour Night shift. The role supports unit operations and patient comfort.

Responsibilities include assisting with patient care, vitals, specimen handling, charting in the EMR, repositioning immobile patients, and following safety protocols. Requires BLS and Florida CNA or RN credentials; high school diploma; strong computer skills.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification required from American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
• CNA with Florida licensure or RN student enrolled in RN program with transcripts provided each semester.
• RN graduate pending NCLEX or awaiting license (up to four months).
• EMT or Paramedic with Florida licensure and work experience.
• Basic computer skills to operate a PC, create/save/print documents, input data.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under nurse supervision and assist with unit operations.
• Demonstrate ability to manage multiple patient care assignments based on unit acuity and staffing.
• Receive report and complete assignments in timely, organized manner.
• Reruit tasks including glucometer finger sticks and POCT.
• Enter timely documentation into the electronic medical record.
• Assist with repositioning of immobile patients and transfer of patients.
• Provide adjunct care with basic treatments and post-mortem care as needed.
• Transport patients within the hospital and supervise one-to-one observation when required.

Education

High School diploma or GED

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) with Florida licensure

RN student actively enrolled in RN program

Graduate of RN program pending NCLEX/await license

Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Paramedic with Florida licensure

Basic computer knowledge; ability to operate PC
