Job summary

VCU Health in Richmond, VA is seeking a Patient Care Tech for the Orthopedic Trauma Surgery Unit to work nights. You will provide direct patient care under RN supervision, assist with activities of daily living, monitor patient status, and help maintain a safe, clean environment in a fast-paced surgical unit.

Required/Preferred qualifications include High School Diploma and CNA certification; BLS certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of patient data collection and documentation (vital signs, intake/output)
• Basic hygiene and activities of daily living care
• Ability to assist with feeding, hydration, and nutrition
• Ability to assist with ambulation and patient mobility
• Provide safe, compassionate care and adhere to infection control policies

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, age-appropriate care to patients under RN direction
• Monitor patients’ conditions and communicate changes to the health care team
• Maintain safe, clean, stocked unit environment
• Assist with turning, mobility, and activities of daily living
• Attend mandatory trainings and adhere to hospital policies
