Job summary

Optical Cable Corporation in Roanoke, VA is seeking an Inspector In-Process – Nights to test and inspect optical fiber and sub-cables during production, ensuring quality and reliability. You will use OTDR equipment, record measurements, and document results.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent training.
• Ability to set up, run, and monitor test equipment in a production environment.
• Demonstrated ability to use tools and measuring devices properly.

Responsibilities

• Selects optical fiber and sub-cables to be tested based on production priorities.
• Strips fiber and sub-cables and uses OTDR testing equipment to test length, breaks, and attenuation.
• Observes, measures, and inspects fiber for wall thickness, diameter, concentricity, print and color per shop order.
• Evaluates data to validate or indicate deviations from standards.
• Completes all inspection paperwork for this function.
