Job summary

San Benito Health Care District is hiring a Night shift RN for Maternal Child Health, providing direct care to laboring, postpartum, gynecologic, and newborn patients. You will assess needs, plan individualized care, monitor labor status, administer meds, and educate families.

The role requires California RN licensure, 2+ years in Labor & Delivery, and BLS/ACLS/NRP certs. STABLE preferred, with strong documentation and teamwork across the care team.

Qualifications

• Current California RN license is required.
• Minimum two years of Labor & Delivery experience.
• Mother-Baby/Newborn experience and knowledge required.
• One year or more of acute care experience required.
• BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required; STABLE preferred.
• Fetal monitoring education required every two years.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program preferred.
• Basic computer and documentation skills required.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to laboring, postpartum, gynecological, and newborn patients.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
• Monitor maternal and fetal status and document labor activity per NICHD terminology.
• Administer medications and treatments and monitor responses.
• Assist physicians with procedures and respond to changing patient condition.
• Educate patients and families on care, pain management, newborn care, and discharge needs.
• Coordinate care with physicians and the healthcare team.
• Maintain accurate documentation and complete required competencies.
