Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing or an accredited Paramedic program, with current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina or certificate to practice as a Paramedic in North Carolina.
• BLS certification; recertification required bi-annually.
• BSN (within 6 months of hire) for RN and Degree in Emergency Medical Services field for Paramedic.
• 3 years of Acute Nursing or Paramedic Experience.
• Proficient in the use of keyboard and basic computer applications.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates patient flow throughout the organization from point of entry to appropriate bed placement, based on medical and emotional needs of the patient and unit requirements.
• Collaborates with Patient Care Service Directors, serving as a resource person, consultant, role model and educator for Nurse Managers and staff.
• Practice in accordance with prescribed medical regimens and hospital policies, and within the scope of the NC Nurse Practice Act/Paramedic Standards.
