Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital in Connecticut is seeking a Nursing Assistant for a full-time 12-hour night shift to support physicians and provide exceptional patient care across a variety of medical conditions.

You will collect and report patient information, assist with daily living activities, transport patients, collect specimens, distribute linens, and deliver supplies as needed. A CT-approved CNA program and BLS certification are preferred and required respectively.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; CT approved Nurse Aide Training Program preferred or in process of earning a BA in Nursing or Health Sciences with at least one clinical completed or significant healthcare experience.
• Proof with college transcript required or significant nurse assistant/healthcare related experience is required.
• BLS certification required.
• Previous experience as a Nursing Assistant in an acute care setting preferred.
• Ability to pass drug screening and background check.

Responsibilities

• Collect and report patient information and data.
• Help patients with activities of daily living including hygiene, diet, fluids, skin care, bathing and dressing, positioning, transfers, mobility and ambulation.
• Patient Transport.
• Collection of specimens.
• Distribution of linens and supplies to patient rooms.
• Deliver ice and beverages to patients.
• Monitor patient safety with at-risk patients as assigned.

Education
