Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) seeks a Nurse Supervisor I (S) at Broughton Hospital for the third shift (11:00pm-7:30am). Lead nursing teams, ensure safe, high-quality care, and promote a healing environment across units.

Attendance during adverse weather is required; newly hired staff will complete a full-time orientation schedule (Mon-Fri, 40 hours/week). This is a mandatory position emphasizing leadership and patient care excellence.

Qualifications

• Candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they meet the minimum education and experience listed on the vacancy announcement.
• The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)/ Management Preferences are not required.
• Experience coaching, mentoring, and evaluating licensed/unlicensed Nursing staff
• Experience implementing and evaluating evidence-based practices
• Experience assessing patients across the lifespan
• Experience working with patients with substance abuse, mental illness, and Intellectual Developmental Disorders

Responsibilities

• Ensure adequate staffing and maintain safe, therapeutic conditions
• Collaborate with nursing leadership to coach, mentor, and develop staff
• Support compliance with policies, procedures, and standards of care
• Build strong communication and relationships with staff, physicians, patients, and families
• Identify opportunities for quality improvement and help implement solutions.
