Job summary

Sharp HealthCare seeks an Assistant Nurse Manager to oversee safe, high-quality nursing care and regulatory compliance while providing leadership to staff as a resource, role model and change agent.

The ANM must demonstrate leadership, clinical and interpersonal skills; responsible for day-to-day operations of the patient care unit and for collaborating with leadership on staff performance and policy adherence.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of RN experience; minimum 2 years acute care in area of responsibility
• 1 year of recent Charge Nurse or other management/supervisory experience
• California RN license (CA Board of Registered Nursing) required
• BSN preferred or Associate Degree with seven years RN experience in lieu of BSN
• National Certification in area of expertise preferred
• Required certifications across units include ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale, PALS (as applicable) within specified timeframes

Responsibilities

• Oversee delivery of safe, quality nursing care and regulatory compliance.
• Provide leadership, mentorship and support to staff; act as resource and change agent.
• Manage day-to-day operations of the patient care unit; collaborate with leadership on staff performance and policy adherence.
• Participate in staffing, budget planning and productivity goals; ensure service excellence and patient satisfaction.
• Coordinate with departments to improve workflow, patient flow, and care across the continuum.
• Engage in recruitment, selection and retention efforts; provide timely feedback and coaching.
