Job summary

Methodist Fremont Health in Fremont, NE is seeking a Nurse Coordinator for Medical Surgical, part-time nights. The role requires 1–2 years ICU/critical care experience and focuses on coordinating patient flow, supervising staff, and ensuring high quality care with SBAR communication across shifts.

You will participate in bed planning, discharge coordination, and risk management while supporting a positive care environment and adherence to standards.

Qualifications

• Education: BSN from an accredited school of nursing required. ASN from an accredited school of nursing and 5 years of healthcare related leadership experience accepted in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
• Annual mandatory education requirements.
• ACLS certification required (within specified timelines).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate unit patient flow of admissions and discharges to ensure beds match demand.
• Supervise and coach staff; promote a positive work environment and staff development.
• Communicate SBAR handoffs and maintain continuity of care across shifts.
• Monitor risk issues, quality standards, and policy adherence; assist with risk management.
• Adjust staffing to census, coordinate with bed management, and support discharge planning.
