Job summary

Alter Trading is seeking a Non-Ferrous Recovery Supervisor for the night shift in Council Bluffs, IA. You will lead shift teams, ensure safety, maintain quality, and optimize recovery processes in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of supervisory experience in industrial settings, welding/mechanical skills, and a solid command of MS Office.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3–5 years of supervisory experience in industrial/manufacturing settings.
• Familiarity with welding, mechanical repairs, and basic electrical systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel/Outlook/Word).
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise shift employees to meet production targets for volume, quality, and material recovery.
• Monitor and log daily shift metrics using internal systems and spreadsheets.
• Provide real-time coaching to improve performance and attendance.
• Diagnose equipment issues and determine maintenance needs (in-house vs external).
• Assist in training new hires and back-up operator roles as needed.
• Enforce safety and environmental standards and conduct internal audits.
• Collaborate with internal teams to maintain compliance with regulations.
