Job summary

Baptist Health Lexington is seeking an RN for the 5A NICU, a 32-bed private room unit caring for high-risk neonates from 28 weeks to full term. The RN delivers compassionate care, coordinates admissions, transfers and discharges, and provides family-centered education with clinical expertise and critical thinking.

This full-time 3rd shift role emphasizes teamwork, evidence-based practice, and a supportive environment for nursing excellence and professional growth.

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure or work permit in Kentucky.
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited college/university or an associate degree with a minimum of ten (10) years’ experience required.
• In lieu of a bachelor’s degree and less than ten years’ experience, an associate degree in nursing will be acceptable for initial hire with the understanding that the individual must be enrolled within 12 months in a bachelor’s degree program and must have achieved the degree within 5 years.
• Basic Life Support (Must obtain within 30 days of hire.)
• ACLS/PALS/NRP and dysrhythmia class completion as required by department of assignment.

• Facilitate admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Provide patient and family-centered education.
• Coordinate care and develop individualized treatment plans.
