Job summary

Fox News Media, via Fox News EDGE, seeks a Writer for the overnight block to cover politics, breaking news, and entertainment. You will work with a team of writers and producers, pitching, researching, and writing stories that will be seen coast-to-coast.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field, strong writing, solid news judgment, and newsroom experience, plus the willingness to work overnight hours.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
Solid news judgment and grasp of journalism best practices.
Prior newsroom experience preferred.
Detail-oriented with excellent writing, spelling, and grammar.
Ability to work well with others under strict deadlines.
Strong knowledge of current events.
Willingness to work overnight hours.

Responsibilities

Take ownership of overnight Fox News EDGE stories for local morning newscasts.
Pitch, research, and write stories that will be seen coast-to-coast.
Become an expert on topics and write clear, concise scripts.
Write VOs and VOSOTs and occasionally write/produce packages as needed.
