Job summary

Fox News Media is seeking an overnight Writer for the FOX News EDGE team in New York. You will own stories for the overnight block, pitching and writing pieces for local affiliates and national air, ensuring clear, concise scripts for VO/VOSOT packages.

Ideal candidates bring journalism degree or equivalent experience, strong news judgment, and an ability to meet tight deadlines while delivering accurate, engaging storytelling on current events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
• Solid news judgment and grasp of journalism best practices.
• Prior newsroom experience preferred.
• Detail-oriented with strong writing, spelling and grammar.
• Ability to work well with others under strict deadlines.
• Strong knowledge of current events and willingness to work overnight hours.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of your stories on the Fox News EDGE overnight block.
• Work with a team of writers and producers by pitching, researching, and writing stories.
• Become an expert on your topics and write clear, concise scripts that tell compelling stories.
• Write VOs and VOSOTs and occasionally write/produce packages as needed.
