Job summary

Star of the West in Ligonier, IN is seeking a full-time, on-site Grain Mill Operator. The role begins on the first shift for training and will transition to night shifts as needed.

This position requires attention to safety and quality, and reports to the supervisor at the Ligonier facility. Responsibilities include scheduling grain blending, monitoring equipment, performing in-process tests, documenting safety checks, and assisting with wheat receiving and packaging when required.

Description

This is a nightshift position but will start on first shift for training .

Duties

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Schedule and monitor grain blending and transfers
  • Set parameters, adjust settings, and monitor mill equipment to meet finished product specifications while optimizing yield and performance
  • Perform in-process product testing
  • Document key monitoring and verification activities including food safety controls
  • Routine cleaning and maintenance activities
  • When necessary, assist with wheat receiving, packaging and load out activities
  • Provide feedback to supervisor on facility and system improvement opportunities
  • Observe and report any unusual activity regarding site security
  • Perform other duties as required
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Occasional flexibility to work other shifts, weekends, or extended hours may be required to provide coverage during vacations, absences, or increased business demands
