Job summary

PROENERGY is seeking a skilled welder to join our Sedalia, MO fabrication team. You will use MIG welding and flame-cutting equipment to build power plant components in a climate-controlled 50,000 sq ft facility, 3rd shift, on-site.

The role requires reading layouts and blueprints, following welding procedures, and inspecting finished parts for conformance to specs. Eligible for per-diem; background check and drug screen mandatory.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED plus 2 years of GMAW/FCAW welding experience.
Must pass FCAW weld test in 2G and 3G configurations (horizontal and vertical up).
CWI inspection knowledge and bend test prior to hire.
Must read, write and speak fluent English.
US work authorization; no sponsorship for visa.
Background check and pre-employment drug screen required.

Responsibilities

Review layouts, blueprints, diagrams, or work orders for welding or cutting metal components.
Position pieces and clamps in jigs or fixtures.
Ignites torch and starts arc.
Insert electrode or gas nozzle and connect hoses for gas and amperage.
Adjust gas flow and pressure to obtain desired flame.
Install consumables per welding chart and metal thickness.
Guide electrode along weld line at specified speed and angle.
Weld parts using MIG welding equipment.
Repair or fill holes and reshape metal parts.
Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions.
Inspect finished work for conformance to specs.
