Job summary

Exela Pharma Sciences, LLC is seeking a Microbiologist II for a 12-hour night shift (6p-6a) to support the Quality Control Microbiology Laboratory. You will work with Microbiologist I and II staff and perform endotoxin, sterility, and bioburden testing, environmental monitoring, and data trending.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in microbiology, 3 years in a scientific lab, and strong aseptic technique and GMP knowledge.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in microbiology is required.
3 years in a scientific lab setting preferred (education, research, or QC labs).
Knowledge of aseptic techniques.
Knowledge of maintaining an aseptic environment.
Knowledge of cGMP.
Ability to multi-task and work under pressure.
Excellent communication skills and collaborative work style.

Responsibilities

Follow SOPs and company policies.
Perform testing for endotoxin, sterility, and bioburden in product/process samples.
Microbial identification as needed.
Environmental monitoring of surfaces, air, water for injection, and personnel.
Capture, record, analyze, and archive raw data; assist in data trending.
Assist in training Microbiologist I.
Review data for compliance to specifications; report abnormalities.
Identify and troubleshoot equipment problems.
Apply GMP/BPL knowledge daily.
Perform duties as requested by senior micro staff and manager.
Possible handling of hazardous waste.
