Day Kimball Health in Putnam, CT is hiring a Medical Health Worker for the BHS Department as a part-time, 32-hour per week third shift position. The MHW will assist the Registered Nurse in providing direct patient care and maintaining a safe therapeutic environment in accordance with established procedures.

Responsibilities include assisting with activities of daily living, collecting data for RN assessments, documenting care, and supporting unit operations.

Qualifications

• CPR certification is required.
• Crisis Intervention training is required.
• One year of mental health or related field experience is preferred.
• Computer experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists in meeting patients' physical needs and activities of daily living.
• Collects clinical data for RN assessments.
• Assists in admissions, transfers and discharges.
• Observes patients and reports changes to the RN.
• Performs safety rounds and documents patient whereabouts.
• Responds to events requiring behavioral interventions and restraints as directed.
• Facilitates patient group interactions and activities.
• Documents responses to interventions and milieu activities.
• Transcribes physicians' orders and manages necessary forms.
