Job summary

Wellfound Behavioral Health Hospital in Tacoma, WA is seeking compassionate Mental Health Technicians for a night shift. The MHT works on an interdisciplinary team to provide a safe, supportive environment and assists with basic patient care under RN supervision.

Responsibilities include vital signs, patient safety checks, hygiene assistance, and documenting care in Epic. CNAs and BLS are preferred, with opportunities for growth in a 120-bed inpatient psychiatric setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CNA preferred; must be willing to apply if not current.
• BLS from American Heart Association or Red Cross.
• Food Handler’s Permit required in WA.

Responsibilities

• Follow directions from the Registered Nurse.
• Take vital signs and record in Epic.
• Alert RN to any abnormal finding.
• Conduct patient safety searches and room checks.
• Assist with meals and hygiene.
• Clean washers, dryers, phones and tables.
• Provide detailed shift handoffs with precautions.
• Ensure doors and rooms are secure.
• Log laundry routines and dryer usage.
• Check for sharp items after showers and maintain inventory.
• Communicate respectfully with patients and families; use motivational interviewing.
• Respect diversity in care.
• Document and supervise assigned groups.
• Notify nurse of changes in patient condition.
