Job summary

Labcorp in Phoenix, AZ seeks a Technologist Trainee to join our team. Work schedule is Saturday to Tuesday, 10:00 pm – 8:30 am. New grads are welcome; full training is provided to get you started in clinical laboratory science.

Responsibilities include specimen qualification, performing procedures per SOPs, instrument maintenance, and delivering accurate test results to support patient care. This role requires careful attention to detail, teamwork, and flexibility with shifts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology.
• Proficient computer use and familiarity with laboratory information systems.
• Ability to work independently and in a team; strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures per SOPs.
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper function.
• Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Report accurate and timely test results to support patient care.
• Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies.
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear PPE.
