Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical, biological, clinical laboratory science or MLS from an accredited institution
• Certification as Medical Laboratory Scientist or equivalent (ASCP or equivalent)
• No minimum experience required

Responsibilities

• Processes orders and specimens and performs testing procedures across all assigned testing areas.
• Reports test results according to standard operating procedures.
• Follows safety, compliance, and department policies.
• Operates instruments using established protocols and QA checks, with routine maintenance as needed.
• Interprets results, correlates with patient age/condition, and documents findings per SOPs.
• Maintains quality control data and takes action to ensure accuracy and precision.
• Maintains professional skills per laboratory competency policy.
• Provides education and training for new personnel and students.
• Participates in shift and staff meetings and Laboratory Town Hall meetings.
• Promotes lean culture and principles in daily work.
• Performs other duties as required by the department.
