Job summary

HiredFirst seeks a Medical Technologist in Port Charlotte, FL to perform accurate diagnostic testing, including STAT procedures, within approved turnaround times. The role requires active Florida licensure and at least one year of MT experience.

The technologist will operate within a regional lab network, handle quality control, delta checks, and documentation, and may assume department responsibilities in the supervisor's absence.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required; Bachelor’s in Medical Technology preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Technologist.
• Active State of Florida Technologist License required.
• Licensure in clinical specialty areas required; Generalist highly preferred: Blood Bank, Serology, Chemistry, Hematology, or Microbiology.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate and timely diagnostic testing, including STAT procedures within turnaround time targets.
• In supervisor's absence, assume departmental responsibility and exercise independent judgment interpreting patient results, including delta checks and escalation of critical values.
• Review pending and result logs (OSR) to resolve workload and communicate with relief staff.
• Complete all required documentation pertaining to patient results and perform quality control procedures.
