Job summary

HSHS St. John's Hospital in Springfield, IL is seeking a Laboratory Technician for the night shift (8:00 PM - 6:00 AM). The role performs a variety of diagnostic lab procedures under supervision, following established protocols.

Requires a Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, or biological sciences and completion of 24 science semester hours with chemistry or biology emphasis. Experience in a CMS CLIA accredited lab is preferred; after one year, eligibility for technologist certification may

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical, physical or biological sciences required.
• Completed 24 semester hours of science (Chemistry, Biology, and other) per CLIA; preference for Organic/Biochemistry and Microbiology.
• One year of CMS CLIA accreditation lab experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of laboratory procedures under supervision according to approved protocols.
• Work with clinical laboratory scientist/medical technologist, manager, or director for guidance.
• Contribute to quality control and accuracy in test results.
