Job summary

Geisinger Wyoming Valley's Geisinger Medical Laboratories is seeking a qualified professional to join our state-of-the-art laboratory team. The role focuses on performing analyses from diverse specimen sources and delivering high-quality patient results in a clinical setting.

You will work night shifts with a strong emphasis on accuracy, productivity, and adherence to competency standards while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to support safe and effective patient care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college/university with a major in biological, chemical, physical or clinical laboratory science and ASCP certification or equivalent.
• Successful completion of an ASCP/NAACLS-accredited Medical Technology/Medical Laboratory Science program or related credentials.
• Experience in a clinical laboratory setting equivalent to MLT is acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Performs and reports various analyses from multiple specimen sources.
• Maintains an expected level of productivity and ensures patient care quality.
• Uses accessioning procedures and confirms specimen identification.
• Operates and maintains laboratory instrumentation, performs quality control, and troubleshoots issues.
• Replenishes reagents, documents results, and adheres to reporting procedures.
• Participates in training and competency assessments and supports education activities.

Education

Bachelor of Science degree (Biological, Chemical, Physical or clinical laboratory science) AND ASCP categorical certification OR equivalent

ASCP/NAACLS-accredited Medical Technology/Medical Laboratory Science program

at least two years' experience in a role equivalent to a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) in a clinical laboratory
