Job summary

UF Health Emergency & Urgent Care - Intracoastal in Jacksonville is seeking a dedicated MLS Technologist to join our fast-paced laboratory team. Responsibilities include performing moderate to high complexity testing across hematology, chemistry, microbiology and serology; ensuring quality control, operating advanced analyzers, and reporting results with accuracy and timeliness.

Florida licensure is required; NAACLS/ASCP credentials preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Clinical/Medical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, Biology, or related field.
• One year in MLS NAACLS accredited program or as Technologist in a hospital laboratory.
• Florida Technologist License in appropriate area(s).
• ASCP/MT/MLS certifications preferred (MT/ASCP).

Responsibilities

• Receive and accept specimens in the work area and ensure proper labeling.
• Perform moderate to high complexity testing across hematology, chemistry, microbiology, serology and molecular areas.
• Perform quality control testing and analyze data to ensure accuracy of results.
• Operate complex laboratory analyzers and document instrument checks and maintenance.
• Provide clinical instruction and assist in testing and evaluation of students and staff.
• May review turnaround times and panics values; supervise staff when needed.
• Attend mandatory trainings and adhere to policies and confidentiality agreements.
