Job summary

Qualifications

• BS in Medical Technology preferred, or BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology.
• Foreign educated candidates must provide credential evaluation from IERF.
• US-educated candidates must provide a detailed original transcript.
• National certification as MT/MLT (ASCP or AMT) is required or preferred.
• 1 year of clinical experience in high-complexity testing is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling, processing, test analyses, reporting and maintaining patient test result records.
• Maintain records showing proficiency testing samples tested like patient specimens.
• Analyze specimens using approved testing procedures and review results.
• Adhere to CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA and safety guidelines.
• Document QC activities, calibrations and maintenance; keep systems within performance specs.
• Report STATS or critical results to clients and answer questions from customers or lab personnel.
• Maintain complete records of all testing performed on-site and ensure department appearance.
• Review/train on new procedures and participate in safety trainings.
