Job summary

CommonSpirit Memorial in Chattanooga, TN seeks a Medical Lab Technologist to join the night shift at Hixson Lab. You will perform waived and moderate procedures with instrumentation and information systems to support disease diagnosis and treatment.

Role requires knowledge across microbiology, hematology, chemistry, and other disciplines, with emphasis on safety, calibration, QC, and results interpretation under leadership direction.

Qualifications

• Associate of Science in biological or chemical science per CLIA.
• Military medical laboratory training and Lab Technician status on hire.
• Military lab credentials AMT/ASCP/AAB acceptable on hire.
• TN licensure eligibility required or pending on hire.

Responsibilities

• Align test procedures with local/state SOPs to ensure accurate reporting.
• Provide clinical correlation and notify caregivers of critical values.
• Ensure major automated equipment is calibrated, maintained, and calibrated as needed.
• Perform quality control and documentation to keep tests within parameters.
• Assist in validation of new procedures and equipment for current physician use.
• Maintain compliance and documentation for proficiency testing.
