Job summary

Barnes-Jewish Hospital at Washington University Medical Center is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician to join our team and perform specimen processing and routine testing. The role emphasizes quality control, instrument maintenance, and proper documentation.

The position supports night shifts (11pm-7:30am) with rotating weekends, and offers benefits and career growth within a major academic medical center.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Physical/Life Science or related field.
• 2-5 years of laboratory experience.
• MLT-ASCP or equivalent certification.

Responsibilities

• Reports and maintains patient test results with timely turnaround times.
• Documents test management problems and initiates corrective actions.
• Operates laboratory instrumentation to deliver accurate results and performs procedures.
• Performs quality controls and troubleshoots instrumentation as needed; assesses problems and applies solutions.
• Trains new personnel in methods, procedures and equipment.
