Job summary

Washington Regional Medical System in Fayetteville, AR seeks a Medical Laboratory Tech I to perform routine and special tests in the laboratory on the night shift. You will maintain equipment, run quality controls, document results, and promptly report issues to supervising staff.

The role requires an AS degree in Medical Laboratory Technology and eligibility to pursue ASCP or AMT certification within one year, plus ~1 year of relevant lab experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Medical Laboratory Technology as required by CLIA regulations.
• Eligible to take ASCP, AMT or equivalent certification exam within one year of hire.
• 1 year medical laboratory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform CLIA waived and non-waived testing according to approved procedures.
• Verify, report laboratory results according to guidelines.
• Identify and correct issues affecting assay performance; notify supervisor as needed.
• Perform analyzer maintenance, calibration, and quality control procedures.
• Document troubleshooting and corrective actions.
• Assist with proficiency testing for regulatory compliance.
• Assist with reagent and supplies inventory as needed.
• Assist with clerical tasks and specimen processing as needed.
• Collaborate with customers to assess needs and support internal/external clients.
• Assist in validation of new equipment and training of staff.
