Job summary

MedSpeed in Elmhurst is seeking a Medical Driver to join our healthcare logistics team, delivering lab specimens, pharmaceuticals, and related materials in a company vehicle on a Monday–Friday overnight schedule. You’ll use a handheld scanner, follow strict policies, and present a professional image to clients.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Must be 19 years of age with an active driver’s license for 3 years.
• Familiarity working with and adapting to technology.
• Demonstrated ability to follow procedures closely.
• Ability to pass initial and random drug & alcohol screens.
• Must have an excellent driving history.
• Must be able to regularly lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Drive a company-owned vehicle, transporting lab specimens, medical records, pharmaceuticals, and related materials.
• Operate a hand-held scanning device to track items throughout transportation.
• Observe operating policies, procedures and service schedules.
• Present a professional image to clients and the public.
• Load and unload vehicles with appropriate equipment.
• Demonstrate safe and courteous driving behavior.
• Conduct pre/post-trip vehicle inspections and maintain a clean vehicle.
• Route duties vary by client and business needs across routes.
