Job summary

MorningStar Senior Living LLC in West San Jose, CA is seeking a Med Tech for a part-time NOC shift 10:00pm–6:00am. Must have Med Tech experience in senior living. Responsibilities include administering and documenting medications, ordering meds, and ensuring resident safety.

You will work under the Wellness Director, upholding the five rights of medication administration, and collaborate with licensed nurses. Benefits include health insurance and 401k, and opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• Must have Med Tech experience in senior living.
• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum three years’ experience in senior living preferred.
• Experience administering medication in an assisted living setting.
• Ability to read/write English and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Administer and document prescribed medications per MAR under supervision.
• Order meds from the pharmacy 7 days prior as prescribed.
• Document after administration and initial the bubble pack.
• Monitor residents for reactions/side effects.
• Take vital signs prior to meds when required.
• Report medication errors to Wellness Director immediately.
• Assist with care plan development and daily resident care.
• Ensure resident privacy, safety, and dignity.
• Work with licensed nurses and avoid overstepping limits.
