Job summary

American Traveler is hiring a Med-Surg/Telemetry RN with compact or PA licensure and 2 years of cardiac telemetry experience for a night shift assignment. This role is based in a community hospital setting with an average census of 50 patients.

You will work 7:00 PM–7:30 AM on 3x12 schedules, with every other weekend required. Travel-ready candidates and first-time travelers are encouraged to apply, with Navy scrubs and Epic charting required.

Qualifications

• Active compact or Pennsylvania RN license required.
• BLS and NIHSS certifications required.
• 2 years Med-Surg/Telemetry experience required.
• Community hospital experience required.
• Teaching hospital and Level II Trauma experience preferred.
• Cardiac telemetry, dysrhythmia management, and telemetry monitoring experience required.
• Pacemaker, post-cardiac angiogram, post-MI, and pre/post cardiac catheterization experience required.
• TR Band experience required.
• Feeding tube management experience required.
• Continuous bladder irrigation, pre/post hemodialysis, renal failure, and renal transplant experience required.
• Blood product administration, central line management, phlebotomy, and IV starting/maintenance skills required.
• Heparin protocol experience required.
• Experience managing non-titratable cardiac and vasoactive drips required.
• PCA experience required.
• CVA, intracranial bleed, post-TPA, seizure, spinal cord injury, substance withdrawal, and traumatic brain injury experience required.
• Chest tube, HFNC, oxygen administration, non-invasive airway management, and tracheostomy care experience required.
• Wound care and wound vac experience required.
• Valid references and copies of certifications required for consideration.

Responsibilities

• Med-Surg/Telemetry unit (Team Center 2B) in a community hospital setting.
• Average daily census of approximately 50 patients.
• Serves adolescent and adult patients with stroke and general Med-Surg post-surgical needs.
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6.
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM-7:30 AM), with 4x12 schedules possibly considered.
• Every other weekend required.
• Epic charting system required.
• Navy scrub color.
• Provide comprehensive Med-Surg/Telemetry nursing care for a diverse adolescent and adult patient population.
• Orientation is approximately 24 hours.
• One pre-approved time-off request permitted per contract; no block scheduling accommodated.
• Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius at a local rate differential.
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply.
